Here is my take on the situation. Looking at the data and the incredible increase that only FLORIDA is experiencing I have to assume the five days of missing data has been accumulated and reported as one single day.
Sorry CDC you are going to have to try harder than this to trick this dog.
(Or the data is incorrect due to certain states not reporting for five days.)
