Approximately two weeks ago my dear wife had an allergic reaction to something in our garden. By 2:00pm her fingers had swollen to the size of little sausages and she had developed an entire rash over her body. So off to urgent care we went. Dropping her off at the entrance I told her I would be back to collect her as soon as I had picked up our daughter from school.

Arriving at my daughter's school I waited for her to exit the facility. About ten minutes into the wait my daughter came sloughing towards the jeep. Climbing into the vehicle she asked if we could pick up Starbucks before collecting my wife. Sure I said as I pulled away. Both locations were in the same direction and it wasn't like this was our first visit to urgent care.

As we drove past the urgent care I noticed an ambulance in the car lot. Joking I said to my daughter "how much do you want to bet the ambulance is picking up your mother". A few minutes later my cell phone rang from a number I did not recognize. I knew I should have put some money down. It was urgent care informing me that my wife was being taken to Florida South hospital.

I told my daughter it was probably best we went back to the urgent care and put the Starbucks order on hold. Making a U-turn we headed back towards the building. The ambulance was still in the car lot. I couldn't make up my mind whether this was a good thing or a bad thing as we pulled into a car parking space.

As we got out of the car my wife was being wheeled out on a gurney. She was conscious which was a bonus. The first responder informed me that she had been feeling faint so the urgent care facility had called for an ambulance. He said the hospital was just across the road and we should meet them there.

We arrived at the hospital and were greeted by a metal detector and a security guard. A little unusual for me as the hospital in my local town back in Illinois' was metal detectorless. When in Rome I guess so after removing everything from our pockets my daughter and I went through the TSA-like security checkpoint.

Next up was check-in. Apparently, we were too early for her to show up in the system. The receptionist said to try back in ten minutes. Off to the cafeteria, we went. The Gods must have been smiling on my daughter because they had a Starbucks in the hospital. After purchasing her a mocha choca something or other with sprinkles I grabbed a cheese bagel and coke. Such healthy choices I know. After we had finished our quick pitstop we headed back to the check-in. The nurse directed us to a curtained partition where my wife was waiting. Drowsy from Benadryl she took a nap as we waited for the doctor. Long story short she was dismissed after an eternity of waiting.

Now to the mysterious goings-on two curtains over who we shall politely call 'COVID 19 PATIENT ONE'. Bored and nobody to talk to I took to eavesdropping on the conversation behind the curtain.

The nurse informed 'COVID 19 PATIENT ONE' that he did indeed have COVID. Jokingly I shuffled the chair an inch or two further away from the curtain. Still in listening range, I overheard the nurse giving 'COVID 19 PATIENT ONE' his medical directions.

• If you get a fever take Ibuprofen
• Drink plenty of water
• If you have difficulties breathing come back straight away

The curtain whipped back like some 80s game show to reveal an elderly man in his 70s. Curious that our current protocol for what the government and media would have you believe is the deadliest virus since the bubonic plague is to simply wait until the patient cannot breathe.
in this country is to send elderly people home until they can't breath.

Then the nurse vanished behind a second curtain as the elderly old man nervously departed. For the purposes of this story, we shall refer to this patient as 'COVID 19 PATIENT TWO'. The same set of events unfolded before my ears before this patient was also sent on her way with nothing more than best wishes and the knowledge that she was on her own.

At last, it was our turn to be set free. Relieved to be leaving the triage of COVID death we headed for the car. So to summarize it appears that the medical professionals who I assume are following a cookie-cutter standard operating procedure, are discharging patients who are destined to either recover fully or return in a state of health that would require a miracle to reverse.

It appears that our government has created the most dramatic of worlds for us to live in. Not only is going to the store a deadly virus-infected game of chicken but we also have people among us who were part of the insurrection. Domestic Tourists who committed the heinous crime of taking selfies of themselves after accidentally following the DC police as they directed old ladies and young kids into the CAPITAL BUILDING on January 6th. An event allegedly on the level of the civil war.
